NEW YORK—On Saturday afternoon Jan. 24, the weather was very chilly in New York, yet inside the Radio City Music Hall many hearts were warmed at this famous venue in the heart of Manhattan.

Divine Performing Arts (DPA) New York Company and DPA International Company together presented Chinese New Year Splendor to a full-house audience of nearly 6,000, just before the Lunar New Year.

Among the audience was Mr. Zou, a Chinese businessman in New York, who had tears in his eyes right from the beginning of the show.

He said that every detail of the performance was very touching. He got more from watching one DPA production than from all the books he has read in his lifetime.

“It is very outstanding. It will be an eternal inspiration.”

DPA is a comprehensive manifestation of artistic perfection, he said. He found the taste of ethnic dances and customs authentic, and believed they would play a guiding role in both our future art and life.

Mr. Zou once worked in the arts community back in Mainland China. He immigrated to the U.S. 7 years ago and now returns to China every year for business and visiting purposes.

During the last season of DPA in February 2008, he purchased a ticket to see the show. However, he was unable to make it and regretted having had to wait an entire year.

“I waited for this day for a whole year. I was originally planned to go back to China to spend Chinese New Year, but I changed my mind, just to watch DPA at last.”

Mr. Zou said that all the entertainment in China nowadays are either political propaganda or inferior. There isn’t a good show such as DPA in Mainland China. After all the effort to see the show, he felt very honored after finally watching it.
