DAEGU, Korea—The elegant Suseong Artpia proved to be an apt host for the unmatchable performances of the Divine Performing Arts show in South Korea. The Monday, Feb. 2 performance was sold out and the audience of 1,200 people eagerly looked forward to the show.

The audience members where from diverse social strata and they had one thing in common, they said they will remember the show for many years to come!

Kwon Sara, an usher at the theatre said, “Today’s tickets are all sold out. Because of the weekend, I think many people want to see this.”

Son Jeong-Hyun, Director of the Pusan Buddhist Broadcasting System, came to see the Divine Performing Arts. He had already seen the show, last year and twice this year. The performance didn’t dim for him, even with seeing it many times. He is still deeply impressed by the show.

He commented on his experience. “When I saw the scene of a child and a parent meeting after decades and they were just speechless and crying, I was moved. Similarly, I have experienced this kind of thing before. When I saw this performance, it created a sensation, as that time was hard for me. That is why I gave them a long clap.”

The strong message, which is included in the performance made him look back over his life.

“To me the message of words was very strong. Also, phrases like the truth is here but one doesn’t know the truth because one is full of dishonesty, meeting the truth is the hope of being saved. These kinds of messages were the one that remains in my heart. So I will go and find what the real truth is.”

The Divine Performing Arts show is filled with brillant and joyous folk dances, stunning backdrops, and stories which touch the audiences hearts and souls.

Jeon Young Ha, an administrative official of the North Gyeongsang Province Office and a chairperson of the organizing committee of a military academy says he was moved by the messages contained in the performance.

“In the final dance, the savior of the world guided everything with ease. I was very touched.”

He also says that this gave him the opportunity to see the real traditional Chinese culture.

“This performance was different. I can get to know how traditional Chinese culture is so beautiful. Wonderful! It was fantastic,“ he continued. ”I noticed several Chinese cultures; China is really close to our country. From this performance, I saw everything in a new way, and I want to see this performance again.”

It seems that one reason the show sold out was that many in the audience said they wanted to see it again. Not only for the beautiful choreography, but also the deep inner meaning that it conveys.
