PASADENA, Calif.—Mr. Miklas, an human resources manager, attended the opening of Divine Performing Arts in Pasadena, Los Angeles. He came from greater Los Angeles to see the show, and took some time during the intermission to share his comments with reporters.

When asked to describe the performance in three words he said, “Cultural, colorful, and musical.”
Mr. Miklas also commented on the dancing in the show by stating: “I like when there is more action and when there is dynamic dancing, but my girlfriend likes the formation dancing.”

When asked what he may have learned from the performance he said, “I think we learned about some cultural symbols that are related to Chinese culture.”

Bill, a real estate investor, was overjoyed and nostalgic with the performance about the Monkey King, “a very traditional story.” His pride for his Chinese heritage was felt as he glowed in appreciation of this dance. He simply stated, it’s “exciting!” Continuing on, he said the dance reminded him of Taiwan “in the summer, [when] children watch dances of the Monkey King. It’s very traditional.”
