CHICAGO--“There are issues about Chinese culture that are often not addressed, especially the religious part,” said business student, Mr. J. Chow  about Divine Performing Arts in Chicago at the Civic Opera House Saturday, Dec. 27.

Chow served as an interpreter for his Chinese-speaking family. His father, Mr. H. Chow said, “It was very good. The show is based on good religious foundation and tries to teach those messages.”

The show has performed in over 70 cities worldwide. The program includes a dance based on the beloved character the Monkey King, and a dance describing the persecution of Falun Gong.

“It’s inspirational as well as educational, said Ivan, an accountant in the Chicago area. “It’s just fantastic.” This show provides a wonderful opportunity to see the other side of the world. Its great they could bring it to Chicago.”

“The show is different from the last time I saw it a couple years ago,“ said Ivan. ”It is more focused on the spiritual aspect, and I think that makes it a better show. The fact that it is a combination of culture and religious beliefs makes it a divine experience.”

“I thought the interpreted dance that showed the man being persecuted for his religious beliefs, Persecuted on a Sacred Path, was exceptional,” said Lara, a salesperson in Chicago.

“If I had to describe the show in three words I would say it was, elegant, amazing, and exceptional,” she added.

The DPA New York Company will hold the final Chicago performance at 2pm Sunday December 28.
