BOSTON—Mr. and Mr. Ramanathan [father and son] were among the audience at the Boston Opera House on Saturday, Jan. 10, who loved The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) presentation of the Chinese New Year Spectacular.

Mr. Ramanathan [son], used to play the trumpet professionally with a lot of groups at the conservatory in Boston. Now, he now is a political science major at a nearby university. He said, “I used to [play the trumpet] a lot here in Boston, so I can recognize a good orchestra when I see it.

“It was absolutely fantastic, the … orchestra did an amazing job, and the dancers clearly have done this before. It was just outstanding to see it all put together in such a beautiful stunning way.”

He was very moved by Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution and felt the messages in that performances were important to humanity. Before seeing the show, he was aware of the persecution of Falun Gong in China and felt people should not be persecuted for their beliefs. He said, “One thing I was very impressed with was the Falun Gong [dance] [Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution] involving the policeman and the man who was beaten. I thought that was very, very moving and I really enjoyed the messages in that.

“It was very well done, and it really puts out a message of spirit and hope that I really enjoyed.”

Mr. Ramanathan [father], a professor in the air force, also like the performances saying, “It was a nice show. The costumes were good and the music was good and the drums were excellent ...”

When asked which was their favorite performance Mr. Ramanathan [father] replied, “I liked the drums.” Mr. Ramanathan [son] added, “I enjoyed the drums very much. Like I said my favorite was [Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution].”
