BOSTON—A former professor of Beijing Normal University and his wife shared their appreciation of Divine Performing Arts (DPA) performances after watching the show in Boston. For the security of their families in mainland China, their names are kept anonymous in this report.

The professor praised Chinese classical dance that was performed throughout the show, and he was very impressed by the backdrop. He was particularly touched by the story, Monk Ji Gong Abducts the Bride. He said the scene of a landslide destroying the houses led him recall the Sichuan earthquake that happened in China last May.

In the program, the monk Ji Gong saved everyone by abducting the bride, making them chase him, and left a village that was destroyed by a rockslide. Before the Sichuan earthquake, many people chose to believe the communist regime that dismissed the early warnings of an impending earthquake as rumors. They then lost their lives.

China was ruled by communism. He was not aware of Chinese folklore like Legend of the Brush until he saw the show, since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has destroyed Chinese culture.

He has personally repeatedly experienced suppression and persecution by the CCP. He mentioned that even though he is not a Falun Gong practitioner, he is clear-minded about the CCP’s suppression of Falun Gong. He believes that Falun Gong is based on opposite principles from to the CCP. The CCP is evil, violent, and bloody. Falun Gong is based on truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance.

The professor indicated that he was a loyal reader of the Epoch Times and is particularly grateful for the series Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. This year, when he realized that the DPA was going to be in Boston, he purchased the tickets right away. After the show, he exclaimed, “Surely we’ll watch the Divine Performing Arts show every year!”

His wife, a graduate from the Beijing Normal University, is fond of ballet. She also praised and appreciated the show, saying, “It’s such a beautiful feeling to watch DPA combining the acts, programs, and scenery harmoniously. It makes you feel good knowing that the performance illustrates the excellent and profound Chinese culture and history.”

The Epoch Times is a proud sponsor of the Divine Performing Arts International Tour.
