ANTWERP, Belgium—The highly acclaimed Divine Performing Arts (DPA) 2009 World Tour’s second of four presentations was held on Feb. 24 at Antwerpen’s Stadsschouwburg city center venue.

A family of four came to see the show. Mr. Verstraeten, company owner, his wife Ms. Divenyi, a former professional dancer, now painter, son Patrick who is a company lawyer, and their niece Caroline.

Patrick praised the DPA presentation of ancient China depicted through classical Chinese dance. “I think it was very nice, and very dynamic and definitely not boring. We had a very good time tonight. We really enjoyed it.”

He thought the performance was a very good overview of traditional China. His wife is Chinese but she stayed home tonight with the baby.

Ms. Divenyi enjoyed the show “very, very much. It is the second time we came. Last year we saw it and then. ... We are very interested in the Chinese culture,” she said.

As a former dancer, she thought the show was “inspiring.” She is originally from Hungary where she trained as a dancer and now lives in Holland with her husband who is Dutch.

Mr. Verstraeten came to see the show last year with their grandson, and once again enjoyed everything, “especially the two string violin [erhu] I like it, it is very special. It reminded me of Chinese music, the way it goes, the tones, the notes go.”

This year they brought their niece who plays the violin. “She doesn’t speak English, but a few weeks ago she won the second prize when she was playing with girls who were eighteen years old, and she is only eleven,” Ms. Divenyi said.

“We are also very proud of her.”
