AARHUS, Denmark—Founded three years ago, Shen Yun Performing Arts has become the world’s premier Chinese dance and music company. It seeks to breathe new life into traditional Chinese culture while providing audiences everywhere with an experience of beauty.

Shen Yun has already performed at many of the world’s greatest stages, and each year it travels the world, performing on tour across Europe, North America, Oceania, and Asia.

Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark, has this year been graced with a visit from the touring company. On March 9, Shen Yun’s first of two shows in Denmark was held in the city’s renowned concert hall Musikhuset Aarhus and the audience was thrilled.

Ms. Baekmark, who attended the show with her husband, used to trade antique furniture, Danish designed furniture, and oriental art, especially Chinese, which she is very fond of.

She said that she loved the show. “I enjoyed it very, very much. It’s so beautiful and impressive.”

Her favorite dance was Dance of the Yi. The Yi people are an ethnic group in Southern China who are known for their passion for music and dance, and in this performance the dancers impress the audience with their colorful, rainbow-like dresses.

Ms. Baekmark also liked the song “Hesitate No Longer.” Although she did not understand the words in the lyrics, this did not prevent her from enjoying soprano Pi-ju Huang’s superb voice.

In addition to being entertaining, she thinks the show is educational. “I learned that people should treat each other nicely. … We are all born naked, and on the inside we are all the same.”

The show ended with two curtain calls and a long standing ovation.
