NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.—Despite the temperature dropping below 20 degrees, people from New Brunswick, New Jersey, and neighboring areas flocked to the debut performance of Divine Performing Arts (DPA) in New Brunswick, NJ.

The company’s debut performance on the evening of January 25, was given to a full house. The performance took place at State Theatre.

State Theatre has an orchestra level and a mezzanine level, both of which were filled to capacity.

New Brunswick is in Middlesex County of New Jersey and is the county seat. Nicknamed Hub City, it is home to the largest campuses of Rutgers State University of New Jersey. New Brunswick is also home to corporate and production offices of several pharmaceutical companies, such as Johnson & Johnson and Bristol-Myers Squibb.

The audience of the debut performance seemed delighted. Loud applause accompanied all the performances, and during the dance “Dignity and Compassion,” many audience members wept.

The people present represented the makeup of the city and its surrounding areas. Many Asians were in the audience, and many students from Rutgers and other nearby universities.
