'It is very important that this message gets out because it is truth,' said Congressman Diaz-Balart.

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.One of the local luminaries who attended the Divine Performing Arts show in Fort Lauderdale was Lincoln Diaz-Balart, congressman for Florida’s 21st District. Mr. Diaz-Balart was very enthusiastic about the show.

“It is extraordinary. It’s not only esthetically extraordinary but it is also ethically very uplifting. It’s just an extraordinary, extraordinary performance. I feel very, very privileged to be able to see it.”

Congressman Diaz-Balart put the show into a larger perspective: “It is a combination of absolutely lovely arts and it’s very admirable. It’s a very uplifting performance. I wish that everybody could see it. It really reflects the best not only of China, but of humanity, and it’s a wonderful experience.”

Congressman Diaz-Balart addressed the deeper meanings and references to higher matters—fate, truth, good and evil—in many of the songs: “The fact is, some things are eternal, and no matter what the difficulties in this life the truth will prevail, and mankind cannot be destroyed.

“I was very moved by the song that talked about the damage that atheism has caused and is causing. It was very moving, but all of the performances were moving, uplifting; they teach us about the eternal nature of mankind and of how we have to be humble.

“The songs carry the sense that evil will not prevail, and so the message is that the truth ultimately prevails. It is extraordinarily uplifting and I am so happy to be here.”

Congressman Diaz-Balart explained why, even in these tough economic times, he would recommend that his constituents see the show: “Because it is not only esthetically extraordinary but it is important to remember the message, the ethical message—the message of the eternal nature of truth. I will definitely do everything I can to recommend this performance and I am very happy to see that it’s in other places in Florida as well.

“I saw that it’s in Sarasota, so that’s very good news, and I believe you have a performance in Atlanta also. It’s very important that this performance travels as much as possible throughout the United States.”

The congressman also remarked on how he thought a show based in traditional Chinese culture would go over in Western society.

Congressman Diaz-Balart was confident that all people would understand the message and the meanings:
“The message is eternal, it is truth … What’s so impressive is China’s five thousand years of culture. That puts into perspective the difficulties of the last decades. These times will pass because eternal truth will survive atheism and the difficulties of the 20th Century.

“It is very important that this message gets out because it is truth.”
