NEW YORK—New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg sent an official greeting to the Divine Performing Arts Company on the occasion of the New York based tour group’s upcoming shows at Radio City Music Hall on Jan. 24 and 25.

In his greeting, Mayor Bloomberg welcomed those attending the show, which is sponsored by New Tang Dynasty Television, a New York-based Chinese language TV station.

Mayor Bloomberg described the event as an opportunity for New York’s Chinese-American community to “Celebrate the Lunar New Year. Featuring singers, dancers, and musicians from across the world, the DPA Chinese Splendor honors China’s history and traditions while incorporating narratives from the present day.

“As Chinese men and women from across the five boroughs celebrate the start of the year of the Ox, all New Yorkers are reminded of the contributions this community has made to our City’s economic, social, and cultural life,” stated Bloomberg.

The DPA performers are now on a world tour, with three separate companies touring simultaneously. The tour will span four continents and visit over 80 cities. This is the fifth year New Tang Dynasty TV has sponsored a Chinese New Year performance, and the third year the show will be performed at Radio City Music Hall.
