Tasmania is an island state, part of the Commonwealth of Australia. It is located 240 kilometres from the Australian mainland.

Tasmania is promoted as the natural state. Almost 45% of Tasmania land lies in reserves, national parks or World Heritage Sites which includes six national parks and a number of reserves and conservation areas and covers coast, islands, rivers, peaks, valleys and button grass plains.

The island was separated from the mainland at the end of the last glacial period about 10,000 years ago.

Climate in Tasmania is mild with four distinct seasons. Warmest months are from December to March when temperatures reach 17 and 23 degrees Celsius. Whereas the coldest winter temperatures get down to 3 and 11 degrees Celsius temperatures.

Tasmania is haven for diversity of wildlife some of which you cannot find anywhere else such as Tasmanian Devil or Wombat.
