LONDON—Latin and Ballroom dance teacher Rachel Glen described Shen Yun Performing Arts’ dancers as “really elegant”, saying she was really excited to see the performances of classical Chinese dance at the London Coliseum.

“It’s beautiful to watch, absolutely beautiful,” she said. “The movement is beautiful so see!”

Ms. Glen came to see New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts on their fourth day in London on Friday, April 8. Shen Yun’s mission is to revive China’s traditional culture through classical Chinese dance performances.

Ms. Glen praised the synchronicity of the dancers and said that the tumbling techniques—one of the a characteristics of classical Chinese dance—were amazing.

She said the male dancers had an air of strength, but still maintained a sense of lightness. “They look really, really lovely but they’re still so light on their feet, it’s lovely!”

She had come to see Shen Yun at the London Coliseum with her father, Colin, who was equally enchanted by the performances and too marvelled at the lightness of the dancers.

“It’s been really superb,” he said. “The stamina of the dancers is incredible!”
