A dad-of-four has documented the arduous task of renovating his wife’s childhood home to restore its original beauty.
Adam Miller, 36, bought his wife’s childhood abode, built in 1906, for $525,000 last June and began restoring the house for his wife Jessica, 32, and four sons to live in.
Adam, an entrepreneur and business owner, has gone to work on the house tearing up floorboards, breaking down walls, and completely updating the building—which he estimates has cost no less than $300,000.
Nine months on and the dream home looks incredible with a bright new look that screams ideal family home.
Adam even fought through a storm destroying parts of the roof and has documented every aspect of the reno on his viral TikTok page.
“I was able to put extra focus on the house because of being slow at our different businesses, it was a great way to not think about the outside world,” Adam said.
Here are some “before” photos showing the home prior to its transformation:
“We want this house to stay in our family for generations,” the father added.
“We have invited the world into our home online and it has been incredible to share this experience and the kind words of strangers.
“We have people say they are inspired to do something now and that’s an incredible reward for us!”
Jessica believes they have tried to stay true to the home’s original character. “I feel like we have listened to the house and given it life again and the character it deserves,” she said.
“It’s not just our story to preserve but the story of generations of families before us.”
Here are some “after” photos showing the now-completed dream home:
