Company President and Social Worker: ‘We really enjoyed it’

WORCESTER, Ma.—John and Susan Haffty were all smiles as they emerged from the dim lights of the Hanover Theater for intermission. They had come to see the Shen Yun Performing Arts on Thursday, Feb. 10, and discussed their impression of the show before rushing to see the second half.

“It’s a wonderful show, I love the dancing and the gymnastics and everything. The costumes, everything is wonderful. The singing, everything is quite excellent. We really enjoyed it,” said Ms. Haffty.

“It’s been very good,” added Mr. Haffty, who was eager to see the second half of the performance.

Mr. Haffty, owner and president of an IT consulting firm, and Ms. Haffty, a social worker, said the costumes in Shen Yun were a highlight of the show.

“I love the dancing, but I love the costumes, the different costumes,” said Ms. Haffty, “I love everything!”

The costumes in Shen Yun are handmade, using lavish colorful silk. Many of the costumes inspire awe in audiences due to their stunning visual effects such as long flowing sleeves, regal robes, and elaborate detailing.
