DAEGU, South Korea—Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company’s second performance won warm applause from the audience at the Suseong Artpia on Jan. 31. Kang Shin-ho, the Director of the Secretary Department from Yeongju City was at the performance was was appreciative of the show.

“It is quite an honor for us to watch a world class performance in our city,” he said.

“Before I watched the performance, my understanding of Chinese arts was only limited to performances I saw in China. But Divine Performing Arts gave me a brand new understanding of Chinese culture, and I'd like to express my gratitude for such a precious experience.”

Commenting on the the backdrops and the costumes, Mr. Kang said, “Talking about Chinese colors, a series of primary colors comes to mind. But the colors in this performance are so beautiful and incomparable that as if I have seen it for the first time in my life.”

Mr. Kang concluded by saying, “Everything about this performance is very good. The performers’ movements are very graceful and harmonious. Through their body language, my forgotten memories seem to reopen and my inner world awaken. Korean culture is closely related to Chinese culture, therefore, it is very easy for us to understand the content of the show.”

DPA is a New York-based performing company and is seeking to revive China’s traditional culture and present it to audiences around the world through Chinese classical dance and music.
