This will hopefully become a global trend of kindness.
Reddit user justfnpeachy uploaded a photo to the social news site showing a scarf, which was left out yesterday for strangers, who might get caught outside amid plummeting temperatures. The scarf is said to be one of many left in various parts of Ottawa.
“I am not lost! If you are stuck out in the cold, take this scarf to keep warm,” read the note attached to the scarf.
One commentor noted that the scarf was uncannily placed on a bust of Andrew Mynaski, a person who gave his life trying to save a fellow airman.
It is hard out there. Some places are dangerously cold, others are dangerously hot. It doesn’t have to be scarves—maybe place a cold pitcher of lemonade in the street on a hot day (Australia, I am looking at you)—but you can do something nice for your neighbors. Today is a good day to start.
Kindness, it’s easy to pass it on.
