The Cheetah Hunt ride is what is known as a launched coaster. It accelerates from zero to 60 miles per hour nearly immediately in three separate bursts throughout the nearly 4,500-foot track, MyFox Tampa Bay reported.
After riders reach 60 miles per hour, they are then dropped 130 feet and rolled around for nearly a mile. One will be able to experience 4Gs, or four times the pull of gravity.
The ride will be opened next spring in a section in the park called Cheetah Run.
A video of the new roller coaster was posted on Busch’s website, with the voice-over describing it as “the new breed of speed.”
