A recent statement from Trent Reznor confirmed his agreement to provide the score for an upcoming film about the popular online networking website Facebook.

The Facebook movie titled “The Social Network” will be released this October and Reznor said he is almost done working on the music for the film.

Reznor posted a statement earlier this year on Nine Inch Nails’ official website saying that he was taking some time away from his personal music projects to work on the score for the film. He has been working on the music and plans to wrap it up in the near future.

Reznor has had music featured in films in the past including “Natural Born Killers” starring Woody Harrelson.

“Months later, I’m happy to tell you we’re nearing the completion of this and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out,” Reznor said.

“The Social Network” is being promoted with the catch phrase, “You don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies.” The movie is being made by Columbia Pictures and is currently not rated. A trailer for the film can be viewed online at www.thesocialnetwork-movie.com.

David Fincher, the director of the upcoming film, personally asked Reznor to provide music for the film. Fincher has had success with other films he directed such as “Fight Club,” “Panic Room,” and the “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

Trent Reznor has taken time out of his music-making career for other projects in the past.

The singer/songwriter was previously featured as a spokesperson for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The singer starred in a video that highlighted the gross mistreatment of animals in the communist state of China.
