In addition to the competitive accolades, three individuals were presented with honorary awards prior to the ceremony: choreographer and actress Debbie Allen, actor and producer Tom Cruise, and production designer Wynn Thomas.

The recipient of the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award was Dolly Parton.
