On January 13, 14, and 15, Guernsey’s will auction off New York’s legendary Tavern on the Green. The sale will occur on-site in the Crystal Room at the glittering edifice on West 67th Street and Central Park West.
Hundreds of lots will be sold without minimum reserve during the three-day auction. Items include: magnificent Baccarat crystal chandeliers, radiant stained-glass pieces with antique Tiffany glass, copper weathervanes, stone sculptures, large etched glass mirrors and Venetian glass, as well as large murals, according to Guernsey’s website. For the trained eye of a restaurateur or interior designer, the lot also features fine quality restaurant silverware, china, glassware, linens, as well as extravagant holiday decorations, outdoor topiaries and garden furniture.
Auction previews will begin on January 6th through the 12th from noon to 8 p.m. each day. Ensuing the live auctions from Wednesday, January 13th to Friday, January 15th, an auction day open to the public but geared largely toward those in the trade such as restaurateurs, designers, architects will be held about a week later at a date to be announced, at Tavern in the Green’s Long Island City warehouse.

Ruddy Amethyst Baccarat Chandelier
Art Nouveau-Style Custom Tiffany Glass Hanging Lamp
Created in the early 1970’s for the Tavern on the Green, this 34-inch diameter circular Art Nouveau-style leaded glass ceiling lamp was crafted from Tiffany workshop glass, including square frogs’ back jewels, opalescent glass, and marbleized glass. It has detailed geometric bands with oval cartouches containing white and pink flowers. This is the ninth of thirteen pendant shades hanging in the Tavern’s North Corridor.
