VIENNA, Austria—The New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts evening performance drew quite a crowd to Vienna’s Stadthalle, a large exhibition hall where many events are held daily.

Shen Yun’s artists, who are presenting their show to Europeans within their global tour, want the world’s people to learn China’s five thousand year history handed down through folklore from the past to modern times.

The majority of artists are foreign-born Chinese residing in New York, striving to bring true Chinese culture to the world through dance, music, and stories.

Mr. Stefan Haider, a solo cabaret artist who travels throughout Austria with his show Plan B, was among the appreciative audience members during the evening performance on April 5th.

“An extraordinary evening today. I have never seen something like this. A completely different culture—something completely different in this performance—something I have never seen before,” said Mr. Haider excitedly.

He thought he had some connection to Chinese culture through religion.

“I have occupied myself quite a bit with Chinese religion. I studied theology. That is why the texts [on the backdrop] of the show interested me, the texts that blended into the background,” he said.

“It was very interesting, very impressive how the dancers glide over the stage and how all the lights and colors work together—It was very impressive ... and something totally different,” he concluded.
