GEELONG, Australia—Highly acclaimed Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour performed in Geelong on April 3, Victoria’s second largest city in a beautiful coastal setting.

At the popular Costa Hall, a modern 1,500-seat concert auditorium at Deakin University’s waterfront campus, an enthusiastic audience was captivated by the sights and sounds of ancient China that came alive.

Aussie rules football is a passion in Geelong and among the audience was Mr. Frank Costa, the president of the Geelong Football Club.

Mr. Costa, a Geelong native, has been a prominent figure in the region for more than four decades, and along with his brothers, he built up his family’s produce business to become one of Australia’s largest companies of its kind. Mr. Costa is also well-known as a philanthropist, and is a recipient of the Order of Australia. The Costa Hall was named after him.

Mr. Costa said that he was very privileged to be at the show tonight, “I’ve had a most enjoyable evening.”

He said that there was just so much about the show he enjoyed. ”First, the costumes, I’ve never seen such beautiful, colorful, warm costumes. And then the whole dancing was so spectacular. They are so rhythmic, so agile, so fluid, and that was beautiful.

“There was a message in each dance, and it was an uplifting message—it was one of joy, happiness, bright future, hope, all those things rolled into one.
