CÓRDOBA, Argentina—Traditional Chinese culture of Shen Yun Performing Arts has returned to Argentina, this time to Córdoba, Argentina’s second largest city.

The New York-based company has been eagerly awaited in this major city circled by high mountains.

Ms. Alarcia, who is a provincial legislator, described her experience of the show as a state of peace. “I imagine water falls, lakes, greenery,” she said.

“I thought it was a very beautiful show, very good staging, stupendous costumes, very beautiful music. The truth of the matter is,” she continued, “that I’m having a very good time. It is a show with a lot colors, that gives tranquility to the spirit and takes the mind on a journey.”

Classical Chinese dance was mainly passed down among the common people but also through members of the imperial court and as part of ancient theater. Over the years, dancers refined, experimented with, and reworked it to arrive at the extraordinary system of Chinese classical dance known today.

Its divinely inspired heritage is part of China’s five-millennia-old culture.

“I feel serene listening to that music,” Ms. Alarcia said.

She felt especially tranquil while watching the show and “very happy.”

“The show is very beautiful. I liked it a lot,” she said as she went back for the second half, already saying, “I’m going to recommend it.”
