BRISBANE, Australia—Queensland’s Conservatorium Theatre hosted the Shen Yun Performing Arts show on Easter Saturday, April 11.

Located at the popular tourist precinct, the Conservatorium Theatre was packed with curious Queenslanders keen to see internationally renowned Shen Yun.

Recognised for its acoustic design, the venue allowed the audience to fully appreciate the quality of Shen Yun vocalists and the unusual blend of Chinese and Western instruments.

Steven, a bank manager, said he was not familiar with traditional Chinese culture, but the music really impressed him.

“I just think it’s really, really good. Something a little bit different, seeing a different culture.”

Steven also loved the original costumes. He said the ability of the group to communicate their message through dance and music was the most memorable feature of Shen Yun.

“There were no words spoken, but just by seeing the actions you could tell what was really going on,” he said.

Steven was referring to the contemporary scene, Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution.

“Telling the story of it, it was really well done,” said Steven.

Brisbane has two more shows on Saturday evening, April 11 and a matinee on Sunday, April 12. Shen Yun will be in Toowoomba on Monday, April 13.
