Dear James: With my active family, the living room carpeting is badly worn. I want to replace it with laminate, but I don’t want it to look cheap. What do you think?—Rochelle T.
Dear Rochelle: I installed laminate flooring in my own living room, and it looks identical to hardwood. It can handle the abuse from kids as well as pets. It’s available in a wide variety of designs and color options. Below the clear top coating, some with graining, is a paper sheet with the hardwood or other patterns printed on it.
