This cranberry sauce recipe is simple, easy, and delicious. Cranberries are loaded with disease fighting antioxidants, and are also naturally low in sugar. So go, and make your own cranberry sauce this christmas.

Ingredients:

  • 6 lbs fresh cranberries
  • 3 oranges, cut in half
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 star anise
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • 2 bay leaves
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 4 cups orange juice

Method:

1. Tie up the spices in a cloth satchel.

2. Place the spice satchel and remaining ingredients into a thick-bottomed pot and simmer at a low- to medium-heat until the berries begin to slightly break apart.

3. Allow to cool and sit in the fridge for a couple days so the flavour really comes together.

4. Before re-heating and serving, remove the herb satchel.
