At this busy time of year everyone is looking for shortcuts with all the preparations for the holidays. These cookies are perfect to keep little ones entertained. To make it even easier, buy cookies already made, or pick up some refrigerated tubes of cookie dough.
Very few supplies are needed and if there are children in the house it is likely most kitchens will already have cupcake or cookie decorating supplies. All frostings can be home made, but it is better to buy small tubes of frosting as it is easier for children to control the tubes, and is basically mess free.
Snowmen cookies
Start with pre-purchased round chocolate or gingerbread cookies. Use a white frosting glaze over top of cookies, and place a marshmallow on top of the frosting to glue it. Add red candies or cinnamon hearts for buttons. Use black and orange frosting tubes purchased from decorating stores for the arms and face.
Reindeer cookies
Purchase round cookies. Vanilla or gingerbread are best. Use brown or black frosting tubes to make the antlers and eyes. Use some of the frosting to glue on a red candy for the nose.
Gingerbread men cookies
Purchase pre-baked gingerbread men cookies. Decorate with colourful frostings, candies, and sprinkles.
