NEW YORK— Oktoberfest is kicking off in New York City on Friday, Sept. 20, at Austro-German restaurant, Blaue Gans.

Chef Kurt Gutenbrunner brings Munich to Manhattan in celebration of Oktoberfest 2013, serving guests unlimited bratwurst and currywurst sausages, pretzels, donuts, strudel, tap beer and mimosas.

Licher, a coveted delicacy brew from Germany, is poured at Blaue Gans in addition to the restaurant’s extensive imported beer menu.

Oktoberfest was originally organized around the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen on Oct. 17, 1810, Oktoberfest has since grown into an affair that attracts 6 million participants around the world each year.

The ticket price is $47, and includes an all-you-can-eat food and drink at Friday Happy Hours on Sept. 20, Sept. 27, Oct. 4; and Saturday Brunches on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5.
