When visiting the Costa del Sol in southern Spain, some places are a must-visit destination, and this is just such a place. There are many “pueblos blancos” or “white villages” in the area, but the prettiest of them all is Mijas Pueblo.

The village is tucked on a hillside overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, with views as far as Benalmadena Costa in one direction, Fuengirola below and El Faro on the distant horizon. You can see the iconic Buddhist Stupa on the hillside next to Benalmadena Pueblo, watch fishing boats passing by in the distance, all while sitting up on a hillside surrounded by beautiful forested hills.

As a base for your Costa holiday, there are many holiday rentals in Mijas as well as some excellent hotels and hostels in the area. Once you have unpacked the suitcases and made yourself at home, it’s time to head out to tour the town.
