James Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly Brook welcomed the birth of baby girl, Olivia, on Sept. 25.
The Dawsons Creek star shared his happiness of having his first child to his Twitter followers on Monday.
“Had the blessing of becoming a father over the weekend... Couldn’t come close to describing this bliss even if I had 140 million characters,” the actor tweeted.
“Olivia Van Der Beek, born 9/25. I apologize in advance for any obnoxiously precious new-dad tweets that may follow. I’m under her spell...”
“If I watch football w/ my daughter now, she'll like the sounds of the NFL & want to watch it w/ me when she’s older,” he added.
The 33-year-old won an MTV Movie Award for his part in football comedy Varsity Blues, and recently worked on action thriller The Big Bang, directed by Tony Krantz.
Van der Beek married Brook, a model and business consultant, earlier this year.
