Many musicians spend a year or two recording a new album. For vocalist James Dupré, who released his latest album, “It’s All Happening,” on Aug. 22, 2025, his recording project was 15 years in the making.

In 2010, he put the finishing touches on the record with co-producers Kyle Lehning and Jerry Douglas. Then, Warner Music Nashville came calling. About a month after Dupré released his album independently and sold copies at a few shows, Warner acquired it as part of Dupré’s record deal offer. The performer had played plenty of live shows between then and now. He’d also released other albums like “Home and Away” in 2020, along with singles like “Another Love Song.” But the release of “It’s All Happening” had to wait.
