“Hell’s Kitchen” celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will team up with Earl of Sandwich on a British-themed gastropub coming to Downtown Disney that will pair the fiery TV persona’s iconic British dishes with a 1960s British Invasion-themed restaurant.
The new permanent Earl of Sandwich location under construction on the west end of Downtown Disney will open this winter, according to company officials.
The Carnaby menu will feature Ramsay’s take on classic British pub favorites—including beef Wellington, fish-and-chips and sticky toffee pudding.
The indoor-outdoor rooftop restaurant and bar in Downtown Disney will be inspired by London’s famed Carnaby Street during the height of the Swinging ‘60s cultural revolution. The Carnaby gastropub will pay tribute to the Beatles, Rolling Stones and other 1960s British Invasion pop and rock bands from the United Kingdom.
Concept art of the Carnaby tavern shows 1960s psychedelic concert posters lining the walls that name-drop Cream, Andy Warhol and other pop artists from the era.
The gastropub will offer live music on select evenings.
Ramsay is best-known as the strict, temperamental, profane, and blunt TV chef who criticizes, insults, and demeans reality cooking show contestants on “Hell’s Kitchen,” “MasterChef,” and “Gordon Ramsay’s American Road Trip.”
The Scottish-born chef raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, has dozens of restaurants around the world in the United Kingdom, United States, France, Singapore, Dubai, and China.
A string of restaurants in the United States bear his name: Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips, Gordon Ramsay Burger, Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza, Gordon Ramsay Steak, and Ramsay’s Kitchen.
Ramsay’s signature Hell’s Kitchen restaurants are located in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe, Miami, Southern California, and elsewhere.
His original Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in the Chelsea neighborhood of London has received the most prestigious accolade in the culinary world—three Michelin stars. Three other Ramsay restaurants hold Michelin stars.
Ramsay joins two other Michelin-starred chefs at Downtown Disney.
