SEOUL, South Korea—Divine Performing Arts (DPA) 2009 World Tour in Korea ended with five curtain calls on Sunday, Feb. 8 at the Universal Arts Center in Seoul. Ji-Sun Choi, head of Gangwon-do United Arts Groups Association was among the audience.

“DPA has presented everything about traditional Chinese culture on the stage and this is something no other Chinese arts group would be able to present. On the other hand, I have watched things that I won’t be able to see in the performance of other Chinese arts groups.

“I have watched the performances of some Chinese arts groups and had many opportunities to exchange with the Chinese cultural and artistic circles when I was the chair of an arts group, however, DPA’s performance is different from all of them.

“The opening dance Five Millennia Begin has built the framework of the entire performance well. I felt good about it. The subject matter of each program is conveyed through traditional artistic expressions, bringing unique traditional cultures of many ethnicities onto the stage. It’s a great opportunity for me to watch a thorough presentation of traditional Chinese culture,” he said.

After reading DPA’s promotional materials, Mr. Choi had learned that this is a very popular performance in every part of the world and he decided to attend the show.

“This show has well presented 5,000 years of Chinese history though artistic expressions. In combination with hi-tech dynamic backdrop, it has presented the traditional culture perfectly.

“DPA has made this show a concentrate of the five-millennium Chinese culture. On the other hand, the pain and suffering experiences of the Chinese people have also been made known to the audience through arts.

“More people will like this performance for its presentation of the culture and history of traditional China. I feel honored to be at this outstanding performance and I wish more people could come to this show. Thank you for bringing us this magnificent performance. I will tell my friends and acquaintances about DPA’s great work,” said Mr. Choi.
