MEMPHIS, Tenn.—Many greetings and messages were sent to the Divine Performing Arts 2009 World Tour company before opening at the Orpheum Theater earlier this month.

They included Tennessee’s State Governor Phil Bredesen, and U.S. Member of Congress Steve Cohen, each issued their well-wishes by letter.

Mr. Bredesen congratulated the Divine Performing Arts on maintaining authentic traditional Chinese culture through its expression of classical dance, compassion and beauty.

“You are to be commended on all your efforts to foster understanding between Chinese and Western cultures. Memphis is honored to be able to host this event for the 3rd year in its history,” he wrote. “Again please accept my welcome and congratulations on these accomplishments. I wish you success in all of your future endeavors.”
