DENVER—Mr. Newsome, a Finance Officer for a healthcare organization said he really loved the show after watching the internationally acclaimed Divine Performing Arts (DPA) Chinese New Year Spectacular at the Buell Theatre at the Denver Performing Arts Complex on Saturday Jan. 31.
“It is sensational,” he said. “I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but I so enjoyed every one of the acts or the scenes.
“It’s the diversity and the creativity—the costumes. I’m learning a great deal. I think the dance, the drums, the soloists who sang were all sensational.”
The Divine Performing Arts performances include Chinese ethnic and folk dance, making for a unique vision of Chinese traditional culture that is at once both faithful and innovative.
The vocal soloists of DPA are elite singers who perform throughout the year on many of the world’s greatest stages and who have been highly acclaimed by audiences and critics alike.
When asked about the spiritual aspects of the show, Mr. Newsome said, “You know, it surprised me—I very much enjoyed it—it really touched me.”
