ATLANTA—Mr. Kelly is Chief Financial Officer for a Florida business but lives in Atlanta. He and his wife, Mrs. Lassere, attended the Divine Performing Arts show after a friend invited them. Following the first performance, they sat and talked in front of the alabaster light wall at the Cobb Energy Centre.

Mr. Kelly mused, “Yes, the music was good ... It was wonderful, just wonderful.” He said as a child he and his family often went to the opera, ans he remembers it fondly.

“I loved it. I would recommend for a lot of people to come to this show, especially families. The culture and everything else would be wonderful for them. The culture, I thought was great. I thought it was great.”

‘Awe-Inspiring’

Mrs. Lassere, an executive with a multimedia company, saw Divine Performing Arts for the first time as well.

“I thought it was very awe inspiring; lovely costumes. It definitely got the flavor of the [traditional] Chinese culture and the artistry they project in their dance and music. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s very beautiful to see it in action. I didn’t even know it was here.”

She had missed news of the show’s two previous visits but saw advertising this time. Their friend had given them tickets, but Mrs. Lassere says she would have come anyway and now plans to return each year.

‘Absolutely Fantastic’

It seems uncommon to find a native of Atlanta. However, Dr. Thompson was both born and educated here. He received his degree from Emory University. Dr. Thompson, a retired dentist, came to the first show. He was moved by “the redemption in the dance.” His enthusiastic comment on the performance: “[It] was just absolutely fantastic, absolutely fantastic.”
