COLUMBUS, Ohio—The artistry and spirituality of Shen Yun Performing Arts were just two aspects of the show that impressed Dr. Francille Firebaugh who attended Wednesday evening’s presentation at the historic Ohio Theater.
“I’m delighted that we came,” said the now retired dean and professor who taught at Cornell University and The Ohio State University.
At the core of Shen Yun’s performance is classical Chinese dance. These short, story-based performances have thrilled audiences world-wide.
Commenting on the performances, Dr. Firebaugh said, “We truly enjoyed it. I thought it was very well done.”
Many audience members have said they were touched by the moving performances. Dr. Firebaugh was no exception and said, “The message seemed to be quite a message of the Creator.”
She also enjoyed the artistry of the presentation. “I thought the scenes in the back, with the wonderful dancing, the costumes, I thought were just fabulous!”
She concluded by saying, “It was very well done, I’m delighted that we came.”
Francille M. Firebaugh, professor and dean emerita of the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University, also served as vice provost for land grant affairs and special assistant to the university’s president. Professor Firebaugh was dean of the College of Human Ecology at Cornell from 1988 to 1999. She retired from Cornell University and The Ohio State University at Cornell University in 1999.
