GEELONG, Australia—With a full house and an even warmer reception than its debut performance the night before, Shen Yun Performing Arts successfully concluded its show on Saturday, April 4. A number of celebrities from the art world were among the audience, including Mr. Fu Hong, a Chinese-Australian academic-style painter.

“Capturing the essence of Chinese classical art forms, Shen Yun has showed us a true confluence of artistry, impeccable choreography, and innovative stage settings in each work of art. Every move and act of the dancers fully expressed the beauty and elegance of Chinese classical dance that captures the spirit of the traditional culture. You walk out of this show enchanted. This kind of experiences does not come along very often,” said Mr. Fu.

He was most impressed with the program Dance of the Snow-Capped Mountain. “The Tibetan dance was excellent that expressed mountain men’s roughness and valor. I also enjoyed the dance Dragon Spring Drums very much,” said Mr. Fu.

He immigrated to Melbourne in the 80s, has earned many awards for his oil paintings. Mr. Fu and his family of five drove from Melbourne to watch the show. He said it was their second time to see Shen Yun, and they were looking forward to its coming back next year.

Ms. Su Hui, who owns a cafe in Melbourne, and her two daughters attended Shen Yun’s first performance on April 3. Ms. Su said she liked all aspects of the show, including the costumes, the backdrops, and the outstanding artistic and technical skills of the dancers.

She said the singers were her favorite part of the program. They not only displayed the singers’ amazing vocal ability, but also the songs manifested the principles of Falun Gong: Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Ms. Su said she was moved to tears by the songs that deeply touched her heart. Upon hearing them, she truly felt the spirit of compassion and selflessness in the lyrics.

Ms. Su used to find it hard to understand why Falun Gong practitioners would continue distributting leaflets on the streets, in addition to practicing Falun Gong individually. Now she understands it much better after watching the show. “This is Buddha’s compassion,” she said with tears in her eyes.
