CHICAGO—Mr. and Mrs. Bashia were among the audience enjoying the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) New York Company performance at the recently renovated Civic Opera House in Chicago on Saturday Dec. 27.

Mr. and Mrs. Bashia noticed during the show the difference between this performance and others they had seen in America.

Mrs. Bashia said: “We are enjoying it very much, I think the story telling is different from the American’s dance, and also the grace and movement from even the simplest movements impresses me the most ... the Chinese dance and the choreography, I think there is grace and beauty in small movements, for example a woman’s hand, you just wouldn’t see that in American dance, I really enjoyed it.”

Mr. Bashia, a human resources manager, was moved by the sounds and the music played by the orchestra. “The elegance and the music and the elegance of all the orchestra, very elegant, very calm, very soothing, very easy to listen to.”
