Oprah Launches Next Generation Book Club

Earlier this month, media mogul Oprah Winfrey announced the reemergence of her famous and influential book club. In an online video Winfrey said, “Today, I am launching a brand new book club. And this time, it’s an interactive, online book club for our digital world. That’s why we’re calling it Book Club 2.0.” Her first pick is a nonfiction adventure tale, “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail,” by Cheryl Strayed. Print copies will be found in bookstores with the familiar Oprah seal, according to The New York Times. Special edition e-books will come with extra features, including a reader’s guide and Winfrey’s notes.
