SAN FRANCISCO—Gentle sounds, astounding colors and memorizing dances filled San Francisco’s Opera House on Thursday night with Divine Performing Arts (DPA) Chinese New Year Spectacular.

Principal ballet dancer, Ms. Rachel, and her friend Mr. Willis, also a ballet dancer, both both work for a prestigious ballet company. Their comments about Divine Performing Arts were very appreciative.

Ms. Rachel was delightfully pleased by the performance, “The performance was great … I have been to many performances, but none like this one. This was really different, I really enjoyed it.”

Having been dancing in ballet since the age of 8, and starring in many distinguished shows, Ms. Rachel could greatly appreciate the synchronicity of the DPA dances and how difficult it is to achieve.

“I was also very impressed by the synchronicity of all the movements … their bodies, hand and head were together, and as performers we know how difficult this is.”

Mr. Willis, who also works as a ballet dancer, commented on the unity of the performers, “they were so together, you could feel a certain sense of pride, and you could feel that they really believe in what they are doing.” Mr. Willis was also very impressed by the color of the costumes and how they worked with the movement of the fabrics during each piece.

An inseparable component of the DPA is the live orchestra that tours with the show. Ms. Rachel was surprised by the music of the orchestra and stated, “The orchestra was incredible. In the last performance, I was so impressed that the music was coming from a live orchestra. The sound was beautiful.”

The DPA Chinese New Year Spectacular will have two shows on Saturday and one on Sunday before traveling to Cupertino’s Flint Center for performing arts. Tickets available at Ticketmaster.
