Andrew Dawes Receives the Governor General’s Award

Canadian violinist Andrew Dawes gives the thumbs up after receiving the Governor General’s award for Lifetime Achievement in Classical Music award on June 1, 2013, at the National Arts Centre. The Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards celebrate the outstanding body of work and enduring contribution to the performing arts in Canada by extraordinary Canadians. Other recipients of the 2013 award were singer/songwriter Daniel Lanois, filmmaker Jean Pierre Lefebvre, Acadian actor Viola Léger, actor Eric Peterson of "Corner Gas," and dancer/choreographer Menaka Thakkar.
