Planning a party can be intimidating. Whether you’re thinking about a wedding, a birthday bash, a graduation celebration, or an intimate gathering with family members and friends, party planners Shelby Graves and Alexandra Klassen have some suggestions that will polish up that occasion and make it shine.

Graves plans events and coordinates social media and strategy for New Belgium Brewing Co. in Asheville, North Carolina. The largest event she put together was the brewery’s Asheville Marathon & Half in March, which featured 2,000 runners and their families—bringing the crowd size to roughly 5,000. Billed as “The Ultimate Comeback,” the race lifted the spirits of the storm-slammed community while also displaying its resilience.
