Despite a deadly outbreak this May on a cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean, and rising passenger fares in 2026, millions of Americans continue to board these floating fortresses of luxury. The industry seems “immune to bad headlines,” Forbes reports, with some cruise companies now making more money per customer than ever, particularly from elderly and Generation Z travelers.
If you’re new to all this and wondering where to start, digital community Rest Less has recommended the “10 Best Destinations for First-Time Cruisers.”
“There are many amazing destinations around the world, with each one offering something a bit different, whether you’re interested in bucket list, winter or off-the-beaten-track cruises,” writes the site, which is geared toward people over 50. “But if this is your first time climbing aboard, some destinations might be more suitable than others.”
