Trina Merry sees her body art as “a distinctly human experience,” she explained on her website. “Body paint creates a special connection to a person that other visual art forms have trouble accomplishing.”

Having apprenticed under world renown body painter Craig Tracy and with  a B.A. in film, she has worked in the arts department for some major Hollywood films.

On her living canvasses, she uses non-toxic hypoallergenic paint, applied with a brush or airbrush. As soon as she stops painting, the texture and color change as the paint dries. Painting and photography are both essential to her overall artwork. Some of her works are painted on canvas and sold as limited edition pieces.

Some of her more recent work, in which she creates motorcycles with live human models, has gone viral online.

Below you can see a range of her work, from human motorcycles and installations to paintings of the natural world.
