A black cat who apparently has more than nine lives was shot more than 30 times—but survived the ordeal.

The feline suffered more than 30 pellet wounds outside her home in Essex, England.

Owner Doug Taw said he heard shots being fired in the area. The cat returned home “dragging her feet, covered in blood and clearly injured,” the RSPCA told the New York Daily News.

“I was beside myself with worry,” owner Doug Taw added. “Then she eventually dragged herself back in a terrible state and we rushed her straight to the vet.”

X-Rays showed 30 pellets were found lodged in the kitty’s body.

One was removed from her right paw, while the other was removed from her eye.

RSPCA inspector Adam Jones told Sky News: “The vet said two had just missed her spinal cord and it is a miracle she survived.

“We were shocked to find that Puss-Puss was peppered with such an extraordinary number of pellet wounds.”

Taw then added that “we found her crouched under a car, frightened and injured. She ran off and we couldn’t find her for a week.” He noted, “It is heartbreaking seeing her in such a distressed state, and I am so upset that she will now lose her eye.”

The perpetrator has not been found.
