The lost city of Petra is one of the most amazing sites in the world. Carved into a huge cliff face and with an impressive façade, the city is a great place to explore.

And the rest of the area does not disappoint. Situated near Egypt, many adventurous sorts opt to travel from the pyramids up to Petra, taking in the Dead Sea and the beautiful Dana National Park on the way.

Thailand

Crammed with stunning scenery, including beautiful beaches and vast national parks, there are many resorts, including Chiang Mai, Phuket and the bustling capital, Bangkok – all chock full of exciting things to do.

If you go to Bangkok, make sure you visit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace. Shopping and eating out are also a highlight of a trip to Thailand, with bargaining something of a local pastime!

Co-operative package holidays have some great deals on trips to Thailand, and often you will find that the flights are the most expensive part; once you’re there, food, drink and hotels are more than affordable.

Atlas Mountains

If you really like to stay active during your holidays then you won’t do better than mountain biking in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains.

For beginners and enthusiasts alike there are many different routes to take to satisfy your ability. Guided tours are affordable and highly recommended to make sure you stay on the right track!

It’s also a perfect excuse to spend a few days in Marrakesh’s old city, where the contrast of the bustling souk and tranquility of the riads is like nowhere on Earth.

Packages including flights, accommodation, meals and a guided tour, start from around £1,000 for the week, so are very affordable for passionate bikers.
