Axl Rose, the frontman for Guns N' Roses, said that his Twitter account was hacked, after someone else tweeted he was canceling all upcoming shows.

The account said on Sunday: “All upcoming Guns N' Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds.”

However as Billboard.com reports, Rose’s account was hacked and someone posted the message. Guns N' Roses is still slated to perform at the Reading Festival on Aug. 27 and at the Leeds Festival on Aug. 29.

The organizer of the two upcoming performances, Live Nation’s Festival Republic, said the statements were false.

“Festival Republic are informed by GN‘R management that Guns N’ Roses have NOT canceled their performances at Reading & Leeds and that Axl Rose’s twitter account was hacked into and all claims of dates being cancelled are unfounded,” said a Festival Republic statement on Monday.

Chinese Democracy, the band’s latest album, has been banned in China from downloading online.

Guns N' Roses are to perform at 24 more concerts in Europe after the two upcoming UK shows.
