KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—“This is my first time watching Shen Yun, and it was absolutely astounding,” said Ling Peicen, superintendent of Vienna Arts Center, upon watching Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour at Kaohsiung County Government Labor Affairs Bureau on March 14.
She said that the music, lighting, and dance were all astonishing. The show made her feel that China’s five-millennia-old culture is truly amazing.
“Shen Yun music is all original. It was very delicate, very moving. Along with the dancers’ vivid countenances, the music deeply touched my heart. Matched with the 3-D backdrops, I felt as if gods descended from heaven.”
Ms. Ling said that she has never seen such a show before and found it “perfect.”
“Shen Yun music seemed to have already existed deep in my heart. I didn’t need to especially try to enjoy it. It kind of just naturally flowed in. It was rather intricate. I feel great.
“Actually when the first program, The Five Millennia Begin, began, I was stunned. The costumes, props, music, rhythm, and the dance were all arranged very well. The sound of the triangle in the program, The Udumbara’s Bloom, was very good as were the light movements. It was very compassionate and the blossoming petals were so realistic.
“Shen Yun was very powerful. The backdrops seemed to take people into another dimension, into the mountains in heaven. I felt close to heaven.”
